Trust me if Manning would have gone there, the defense would not be the reason they won the big one. That man if healthy gives that offense an identity just like the defense has. Good quarterback play is what the 9ers are missing. There is no easy way to win a Super Bowl. Manning would have to prove himself as well if he went to the Bay area. Time is ticking for him as I mention in the article. Denver is paying him to win a Lombardi trophy now. Maybe he thinks Denver gives him the best chance. I believe SF was the sexier choice to end his career with a dynasty.

Had he chose the 9ers I have a feeling this blog would read like this: "Peyton went the easy route, it's not really him that won that bowl...it was the defense and everyone else" I'm jsut sayin.

I don't think Denver was the best choice either as far as how easy it may be to win elsewhere...but are we really knocking a player for not talking the seemingly easy way out? Are we knocking Peyton for being the anti-LeBron in this situation and actually going somewhere that he thinks will be a challange to win a title? I am happy the cat has somewhat of a competitive streak in a sports era where those streaks are being tossed out of the window for the easiest situations athletes can find. I don't think anyone expects Denver to hoist titles easily just because Peyton has arrived, but EVERYONE knows that their chances just increased exponentially.
