The Toronto Raptors had never won a seven-game series until last night, if you want to call what they did winning. Maybe survival is a better term...
Regardless, they are on to round two to face the Miami Heat, and the hosts will discuss how they got there, along with what they expect in the second round in all four series, as they also bid their farewells to the eliminated teams, and give a quick rundown of what to expect from the departed squads going forward.

The first round of the NBA Playoffs is almost in the book, and some teams have already joined those who did not advance home on the couch to enjoy the postseason with the rest of us. The hosts will focus on those teams, and see what is next for the Memphis Grizzlies, Dallas Mavericks and Detroit Pistons.
Also, there are series still in the air, and the hosts will make what they can on those competitive matchups. And oh yeah, STEPH CURRY AND CHRIS PAUL ARE HURT.

The early story of the first round to the NBA playoffs has been the blowouts, as the favorites are beating up on the competition. Did a Dallas Mavericks victory in OKC last night change the tide of that narrative? The hosts will also discuss their predictions prior to the series, and if watching the first games changed their minds about any of their thoughts coming into the series.

As the NBA regular season draws to a close, all eyes are on Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors in their chase for 73 wins, which would break the single season NBA record set by the Chicago Bulls during the Michael Jordan era. Will the Warriors pull it off, and what does that mean for their legacy? Can we declare them a dynasty if they go back-to-back? How many half-court shots does Curry need to hit before he just puts it in his array of shots? What would Klay Thompson look like on his own team?
Plus, the hosts will discuss unexpected playoff storylines, like the Lance Stephenson revenge tour, the possibly wide open Eastern Conference, and Stan Van Gundy's mustache resurgence.

With injuries to two of their key players in Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, things are looking grim for the Memphis Grizzlies. Having lost their last six games, they continue to fight for a playoff spot in the suddenly competitive Western Conference. However, it is not all bad in Memphis, at least in the hosts point of view, as a version of their grit n' grind playing style seems to have resurfaced. When did Jordan Farmar start living again? How likely is a Tony Allen/Lance Stephenson locker room showdown? Are the Grizzlies in rebuild mode?
Also, the hosts will make some predictions for regular season awards, including MVP, where one of the hosts may not pick Steph Curry (that's not actually true), Defensive Player of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, and Coach of the Year.

Death and Taxes may need to seriously consider adding the Gregg Popovich Spurs making the playoffs to the club of the inevitable realities of life. The hosts at the NLP Podcast spend a week watching the Spurs to attempt to comprehend just how Pop and the Spurs are able to continuously duplicate their success, and why Pop is the true Troll God.
They will also discuss the fight at the bottom of the Western Conference playoff picture, and some potential March Madness ramifications for the NBA.

Without the services of Blake Griffin, the LA Clippers have seemingly not lost a step, which has led some to believe that the team may be better off without him. Is that possible? Where does J.J. Redick rank in the white player hierarchy? Is Chris Paul the worst teammate in the NBA, and is that even a bad thing?
The hosts will also play a playoff edition of "Assist or Turnover," and see who will better or worsen their position in the current playoff standings.

The traditional layout of the Eastern Conference in the last 5-10 years has heavily involved the Chicago Bulls as a potential contender for the championship. However, this season sees them struggling to even get into the race, let alone win it. What exactly has gone wrong in Chicago, and why are they hovering around .500? Will Derrick Rose ever be an all-star again? What do they miss more: Joakim Noah's defense or his ponytail?
The hosts will also discuss the most competitive regular season award, and the prospects of Kevin Durant leaving OKC, given their recent big losses against teams they will likely have to beat in the playoffs.

Last week, Frank picked the Milwaukee Bucks as a potential second half surprise team, and they did not give his prediction much clout with their performance last week. Will the Bucks continue to disappoint toward the end of the season, or will the young talents like Jabari Parker and the Greek Freak propel them to turn it around?
The hosts also must discuss where they were when the Steph Curry shot went in against the Thunder, and some teams they are looking forward to seeing tested come playoff time.

The NBA season is officially starting to heat up with the all-star break in the rear view mirror. The trade deadline has passed, and teams are starting to see the playoffs in sight. Are the Detroit Pistons one of those playoff bound teams in the Eastern Conference, or will they fall just short of the race?
Is Andre Drummond in the conversation for the best center? If not, maybe the most entertaining (sorry Boogie)? More importantly, is the Reggie Jackson/Drummond pick and roll the best in the league?
Also, the hosts will tell you some second half teams to look out for who may put a scare into some of the league's elite.
